Jawa has expanded the line of 42 with the addition of the 42 FJ neo-retro roadster and is powered by a 334 cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder Alpha2 engine
Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has today announced the launch of the all-new 350 Jawa 42 FJ in the domestic market as the 42’s range has now been consolidated with three variants. Joining the regular 42 and 42 Bobber, the Jawa 42 FJ gets its name from the brand’s founder, František Janeček and it boasts a sporty design philosophy with a neo-retro roadster stance.
Speaking on the new launch, Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, “We’ve taken our time with this bike, pushing the boundaries of the ‘price-performance’ matrix and achieved a great blend of edgy performance, gorgeous form, and precision engineering. The 350 Jawa 42 FJ combines classic design with a modern touch, delivering a neo-retro aesthetic. A key highlight is the segment-first anodised, brushed aluminium fuel tank cladding, which not only elevates the motorcycle’s look but also offers customisation with a range of paint options and Jawa branding selections.

Complementing the tank cladding are the aluminium headlamp holder and grab handles, along with aluminium footpegs. An off-set fuel cap adds a unique touch to the tank design, complemented by a wide and flat seat with premium stitching. Other key elements are an upswept exhaust system, a circular LED headlamp, an LED tail lamp and LED turn signals.
As for the performance, the Jawa 42 FJ is equipped with a 334 cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder Alpha2 engine delivering a maximum power output of 29.2 PS and 29.6 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a six-speed transmission with a slipper/assist clutch as standard. Built on a twin cradle frame, the 42 FJ has a wheelbase length of 1,440 mm, a ground clearance of 178 mm and a seat height of 790 mm.

The fuel tank capacity stands at 12 litres and the motorcycle weighs 184 kg. The braking duties are handled by 320 mm front and 240 mm rear discs, assisted by a dual-channel ABS system while the suspension hardware comprises 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and twin-sided shocks at the rear with five-step pre-load adjustability.
The Jawa 42 FJ runs on 100/90-18 front and 140/70-17 rear tubeless tyres and the diamond-cut alloy wheels add to the sporty appeal. The base Jawa 42 FJ spoke version with Aurora Green Matte shade is priced at Rs. 1,99,142. The Mystique Copper alloy costs Rs. 2,15,142, Cosmo Blue Matte at Rs. 2,15,142, Deep Black Matte Black Clad at Rs. 2,20,142 and Deep Black Matte Red Clad at Rs. 2,20,142 (Ex-showroom Delhi).
