The new-gen Skoda Kodiaq receives numerous updates both inside and out compared to the outgoing model and it could retain its existing petrol engine

The second generation Skoda Kodiaq has been caught on camera for the first time fuelling speculations about its imminent launch. Spied without camouflage and red test plates, the prototype has been finished in a white exterior shade and it features exterior changes that are similar to the international model and we can expect the interior to be identical as well.

The new Kodiaq receives numerous updates both inside and out. The front fascia has been completely redesigned, now boasting a more prominent grille with vertical slats and a new split LED headlamp cluster, wider central air intakes to further enhance its sporty look, C-shaped air curtains positioned on both sides of the front bumper, etc.

Other visual highlights are side bodywork with a sleek, uncluttered look, wheel arches and bonnet contributing to its robust stance, sharply angled windshield, new quarter glass, a set of newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and a roofline that slopes towards the rear, redesigned LED tail lamps, a tweaked liftgate, and a revised rear bumper.

Built on an updated version of the MQB EVO platform, the new-gen Kodiaq features larger dimensions for a more spacious cabin. Inside, there’s a noticeable reduction in physical buttons, emphasizing technology integration. Key features include a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

The dashboard and centre console have also been revamped, with the gear shifter now positioned on the steering column. In India, the Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed DCT, delivering power to all four wheels as standard. This powertrain is expected to be carried over.
