The first batch of 1,000 units of the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser has been sold out in Germany in just 30 minutes

The new generation Toyota Land Cruiser has been well received by customers across the globe. Standing in testament, the first lot of the 2024 LC has been sold out in just half an hour in Germany. It comprises a total of 1,000 units and all of them have been booked. A couple of months ago, Toyota showcased the new-gen Land Cruiser at the 20th Bush Taxi Meeting in Germany.

The official reservations for the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser commenced on December 21 at 8 am. It had to be closed just half an hour later as the first batch was sold out and now interested buyers can only register to be on the waiting list. The latest Land Cruiser sits on the TNGA-F architecture which has been stiffened by 50 per cent compared to the old model.

In Europe, the new Land Cruiser is available with a 2.8L turbo four-cylinder diesel engine, which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 204 PS and is linked with an eight-speed automatic transmission. By 2025, Toyota will introduce a mild-hybrid diesel version featuring a 48-volt mild-hybrid system in the new LC.

As for the German market, Toyota sells the Land Cruiser in three variants namely Executive, Tec, and First Edition. The customer deliveries will only begin in the third quarter of 2024 according to the brand and it is yet unknown how many units of each variant have been allocated for Germany but the First Edition is limited to 3,000 units across Europe.

The new Land Cruiser is sold in a variety of engine options. For instance, it is powered by a 2.4L four-cylinder turbo hybrid engine in the United States, and it develops close to 330 PS maximum power and 630 Nm of peak torque. The SUV is packed with features in each trim but the First Edition and the Tec Edition are loaded with unique equipment.

Some of the highlights are 14-speaker JBL premium audio, a HUD, a set of 20-inch alloy wheels, a new decoupling stabiliser at the front and a digital rearview mirror. In India, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300’s prices start at Rs. 2.10 crore (ex-showroom) and its bookings appear to have been halted temporarily.
