Renault is preparing to launch a variety of new cars in the Indian market under its latest expansion plan; New-Gen Duster, Kwid EV and Megane E-Tech Electric Crossover are on the cards

Renault India will soon add a variety of new products to its portfolio as a part of its latest expansion plan in the country. This comes after the Renault-Nissan alliance committed to investing around Rs. 5,300 crore to launch six new cars in the Indian market. Currently, the French carmaker has the Kwid, Triber and Kiger in its stable. Let’s have a look at the upcoming Renault cars in India.

1. New-Gen Renault Duster

Skipping the second-gen model, Renault will likely launch of the 3rd-generation Duster in the Indian market in 2025. The SUV was unveiled recently and is set for a debut in the European market by early next year while it is expected to hit our shoes in the second half of 2025.


Based on the CMF-B platform, the upcoming Renault car will get a 130 bhp turbo petrol mild hybrid and a strong hybrid powertrain option in our country. In terms of dimensions, the four-wheeler will measure 4.34 meters long with 209 mm ground clearance. Reportedly, it will come with both 5 and 7-seater configurations.

2. Renault Kwid EV

Renault could introduce an affordable electric hatchback in the coming years. The electric Kwid will be part of a host of new models which will launch in the next 2-3 years.


The electric hatchback is already available in the international markets and goes by the name Dacia Spring EV. Primarily directed towards the affordable EV segment, the Kwid electric hatchback will rival the likes of Tata Tiago EV in the Indian market.

3. Renault Megane E-Tech Electric Crossover

The Megane E-Tech made its global debut in September 2021 at the Munich Auto Show. Reportedly, Renault is considering launching the electric crossover in the Indian market and it will likely be sold via the CBU route. Based on the CMF-EV platform, the car is a part of the French brand’s international line-up and bringing it into the country is expected to have a positive impact on the company’s image.


The electric car is available in two battery pack options, i.e. 40 kWh and a 60 kWh unit, with a claimed range of up to 470 kilometres on a single charge. As for the launch timeline is concerned, we don’t expect it to hit our shores anytime soon.
