A detailed look at four upcoming compact SUVs set to hit the Indian market in 2025 from Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra, and Tata
Multiple compact SUVs are lined up for launch in India throughout 2025, as leading brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra and Tata prepare to broaden their portfolios. These forthcoming models will focus on meet the rising demand for budget-friendly SUVs. The segment is set for an eventful year with fresh offerings set to arrive in rapid succession and here we have explained about them:
1. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid:
Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx hybrid was recently spotted during testing and is likely to make its debut later this year. Given that the compact SUV coupe has been on sale for almost two years, major design revisions are not expected. The strong hybrid system will likely be centred around the 1.2L Z12E petrol engine, first seen in the latest-generation Swift and Dzire.
2. New Hyundai Venue:
Hyundai plans to introduce the next-generation Venue in India by late 2025. The revamped five-seater will showcase a refreshed exterior and interior, accompanied by enhanced features and advanced technologies. While these upgrades bring a modern touch, the existing engine options are expected to remain unchanged. Notably, this will be the first vehicle manufactured at Hyundai’s newly established Talegaon facility.

3. Tata Punch Facelift:
Tata has been preparing a facelift for the Punch, particularly as several models in its lineup have already adopted the brand’s latest design philosophy. Given that it was the top-selling passenger vehicle last year, the refreshed version is expected to strengthen its position even further once it arrives.

The upcoming facelift is likely to feature significant updates to its exterior including redesigned headlamps, a refreshed grille, updated front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheel designs, and revised tail lamps. Despite these visual enhancements, the familiar 1.2L petrol engine is expected to continue, available with both manual and AMT transmissions. Additionally, the CNG variant, which has already gained strong customer approval, will remain part of the lineup.
4. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV:
The electric version of the Mahindra XUV 3XO is currently in its final stages of testing and it will likely go on sale in the coming months to rival Tata Punch EV. It will be slotted below the XUV 400 and expect the range to hover around 400 km per charge.
