Mahindra & Mahindra posted its highest monthly sales tally of this CY in May 2024 as 43,218 units were sold against 32,883 units during the same period last year with a YoY positive sales growth of 31 per cent. The homegrown automaker finished in the fourth position in the overall manufacturers’ sales standings last month.

The brand was not too far off its highest-ever monthly sales recorded late last year. Mahindra currently has an order backlog of around 2.20 lakh as most of its new models launched over the last four to five years have been successful. The Mahindra Scorpio N, Thar, Scorpio Classic and XUV 700 have been racking up good volumes while the recently launched XUV 3XO will also join the party soon.

The customer deliveries of the XUV 3XO, the rebranded XUV 300 facelift, began last week following its market launch in late April. Meanwhile, in the passenger vehicle segment, including electric vehicles, Tata Motors recorded sales of 46,697 units, compared to 45,878 units the previous year, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 2 per cent.

On the first day of official bookings, the Mahindra XUV 3XO garnered more than 50,000 reservations in less than an hour and on the first delivery day, over 1,500 units were handed over to the customers. The compact SUV is available in a total of nine different trims: MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro, AX5, AX5 Luxury, AX7, and AX7 Luxury with a competitive starting price of Rs. 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
