In November 2023, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga finished on top of the seven-seater sales charts ahead of Mahindra Scorpio and Bolero

As we draw to a close, the 2023 calendar year has proven to be another competitive year in the Indian auto market and SUVs have ruled the sales charts more than ever before. The family based customers have also opted to buy three-row cars across different segments and thus their popularity has also increased tremendously.

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga finished on top of the seven-seater sales charts and we have included SUVs that are sold as five-seater and three-row options as well. The Ertiga MPV posted 12,857 units in the month of November 2023 as against 13,818 units during the same period last year with a YoY volume de-growth of 7 per cent.

The combined sales of Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N stood at 12,185 units as against 6,455 units during the same period in 2022 with a massive YoY surge of 89 per cent. The Mahindra Bolero finished in the third position with 9,333 units as against 7,984 units with a YoY positive sales growth of 17 per cent.

The Mahindra XUV700 slotted in at fourth with a domestic tally of 7,221 units as against 5,701 units in November 2022 with a YoY volume increase of 27 per cent. The Toyota Innova Hycross and Innova Crysta combined to record a total of 6,910 units as against 2,025 units with a huge YoY sales jump of 241 per cent in India.

In the second part of the table, Kia India’s Carens finished in the sixth position with 4,620 units as against 6,360 units during the corresponding period twelve months ago with a YoY negative growth of 27 per cent. The Maruti Suzuki XL6 came in at seventh with 3,472 units against 2,988 units with a YoY growth of 16 per cent.

The recently facelifted Tata Safari finished eighth with 2,207 units against 1,437 units with a YoY growth of 54 per cent. The MG Hector and Hyundai Alcazar ended up ninth and tenth respectively with 1,913 units and 1,876 units.
