Wangfujing Catholic Church, also known as the East Church or St. Joseph’s Church, stands as a historic witness to the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures.
Originally built in 1655, it is the second oldest church in Beijing. Having been destroyed and rebuilt several times, the current structure dates back to 1904 and showcases a blend of Romanesque architecture with traditional Chinese decorative elements.
